Catherine, the newly ordained Duchess of Cambridge, has had a porcelain rose crafted in her honour by Boehm Porcelain
to celebrate the royal wedding. Named the “The Celebration Rose,” the hand-painted and sculpted flower is offered in a limited
edition of 500. It features three little rose buds peeping out from under its green leaves. Its delicate, lifelike petals are
painted a special shade of pink, a color favored by Kate Middleton.
“Boehm Porcelain has been a part of the royal family for several generations,” says Boehm owner Sharon Parker. “In addition to
the Queen and Prince Charles having been presented with some of Boehm’s exquisite floral pieces, the company presented Princess
Diana with a porcelain replica of her bridal bouquet, the original of which she left at the gravesite of Lord Louis Mountbatten,
uncle to Prince Charles, and then sadly presented each of Diana’s sons with a special white rose upon the death of their mother.
In addition, Boehm has named a number of items in honor of members of the Royal Family, including the “Diana, Princess of Wales Rose.”
